Default SHOCKS TO LOWER RK

So, I was at a local swap meet last week and talking to a fellow RK rider about the drawbacks of being short and he told me he had the same problem that he had solved with his King be installing a set of progressive shocks which has lowered his bike about 1.5". Set on his and it was wonderful. The fact that the shocks had a chome sleeve didn't hirt either. My questions are has anyone else used these with success and where are the best place to order a set from. My bike still has the original air shocks and I have switched to the Harley Strech seat and still can't get both feet flat. I have looked at the kits that put the drop between the frame and the axle and think I would prefer to keep those two pieces together.

Default RE: SHOCKS TO LOWER RK

I am 5'5" and with good HD riding boots and the Mustang solo seat, I could just barely flat foot my RK Custom (which comes with 12" shocks as opposed to the 13" stock shocks on the other 2 RK's). I felt like I needed just a little more stable footing and heard good reviews of the Progressive 440 shocks. I ordered the 11.5" 440's from Wally Cycle World and have been EXTREMELY happy with them ever since!!! I whole heartedly recommend them for ride/preformance and lowering for us shorter guys.

11.5 440's the way to go bro, shop around for best price, install takes about 15 to twenty mins!If you leave the stock size rims and tires on you could go with some 11's,i have a 21' going up front and a 18' going on back soon, so i went with the 11.5"s
When installing, just jacked the bike up till the rear tire is almost off the ground and this will allow you to remove the shocks easily. One at a time!!!Before you even ride them, give them at least 3 complete turns on each. They come at its softest setting!
