The 160/80-16 fit my '08 FLHTC, very tight fit though.
**I just came back from a 2663 mile trip and noted the following; my bike is lowered on the rear with 11.5" shocks, while 2-up, fully loaded riding at over 65mph when the suspension fully compresses the tire WILL contact the inner sides of the fender. Given this and even though it does not do it under any other conditions I will stay with the OEM sizing when it's time to get a new rear tire. Otherwise these tires are fantastic!!**

The seat in that pic is a Corbin, awesome seat if you like Corbins, wifey hated it especially on 500+ mile trips.
Regarding the tire fitment you probably will get away with it if the scoot is not lowered, you're not over 215lbs., passenger weighs no more than 120lbs. and you're significant other doesn't stuff your bags, tourpak and rack with another 75~100 lbs. of crap.
Again, on hindsight, I'll go stock size when time to replace, my .02 cents.

I also switched to the E-3's and wouldn't consider any other tire. Good choice. This forum is wonderful for up to date info. and opinions. I really like this bunch of riders on this forum.

I switched to E3's front and rear after going through two rear tires in 15,000 miles. I was getting a low speed front end wobble. The dealer said it was probably my steering head bearings torqued out of spec. It was not. The problem was with the front stock D402 with 15,000 miles on it. New tires=no wobble.

I have about 4,000 on them now. I have nothing but good things to say. They do great in the rain. I rode in some real toad stranglers in May. They dont track groves near as bad as the D402's, and from what I can see they will last longer as everyone has stated.

I struggled over losing the skinny white wall, but the improvement is worth it. I dont miss cleaning those white walls.

I went with the 160 width tire on my 07 Ultra. My bike IS NOT lowered. I have zero clearance issues. I have taken a 2,000 mile trip, 2-up (me 260lbs, passenger 150lbs) loaded up heavy including a bag on top of my tour pack. I have never had the rear tire contact anything on the bike.

I personally like the way the 160 looks on the rear (what little you see of it on an Ultra).

I price shopped and found that Dennis Kirk had the best price at the time. It was something like $250 to my door. I do my own mounting and balancing.

Thanks to everyone here that recommended them! For everyone trying to make up their mind, DO IT. You will not regret it.

Yep, seems like the primary suspect is the lowering of the scoot, mine was lowered 1.5" maybe closer to 2" on the rear (11.5" Progressive shocks). Just to clarify the only time the tire rubbed was when bottoming out on the superslab at 70+ mph.
So in a nutshell the 160 is doable. That said, unless I get a super deal like I did this time ($125.00 for the 160/80-16) I'll go OEM size as I don't see any performance increase by going to the 160.

The maximum load capacity is higher for the 160, as shown here.

Anyone in the market for E3's, Cycle Gear has a 20% off all street tires. The E3's are 97 bux, front and rear same price.
