My bike completely stopped banging after installing my HQ cam last winter, it hasn't done it once all summer.

the lower gearing would be beneficial at take off, and maybe make 6th gear more usable? and the screamin eagle compensator has a stiffer spring so that the knock on startup is either eliminated or lessened? this sounds like me and my service manual are gonna have to visit, as this seems like a doable project at home. thanks guys, good information.

I am about to undertake this project myself as my 103 sounds so bad at start-up it is embarrassing. Been trying to locate the part but everywhere I checked with it is on BO and my local dealer does not stock it.

Will the SE compensator mess up the speedo/odo at all? I know they aren't 100% accurate from the factory, but how much worse, if at all, will it be?

I had a problem finding the se compensator from on line venders. They were saying on back order. My local dealer got one in 10 days and was $224

Installed today
Big improvement. No lash, no kick back when starting, no knock when starting and a much smoother when riding.
The best part, well maybe, is when passing and increasing speed it is smooth. It was good advice to hear about it here on the forum.
