Default Best Seat??? (Ya, I know...)

Been asked a million times--- not looking for opinions about if you like your Mustang, or Danny Gray, I already know that you do, right?

Ok, here's the short version, had a RKC, ditched the seat, we both hated it. got a Mustang touring, we both 'liked' it--

sold it, got an 09 EG--- stock seat, same story--

got a few more bucks now, and gonna do long rides, need a 'great' seat--

can go with the Mustang -- around $400 or so online --- it was suggested that I go with the Corbin--- pricey, but worth it--- about $600 for the touring model, plus another $200 for passenger back rest

BUT, always loved the look of the Road Zeppelin air adjustable seat--- a motor-sofa if there ever was one any maintenance issues with the Zepp? air bladders pumps switches--- do they break??

how about it? Corbin or Zeppelin, especially for the passenger for long rides---
anyone compared the two?? was very surprised to see the price of the Zepp was less than the Corbin---

help me out--- need a seat this week!

Seats are a tricky thing. To one person a Corbin is a torture contraption and to another guy the same seat is fantastic for 800 mile days. So hard for someone to give advice cuz even the seat they find great may not be so great for YOU. Mustang of course is very popular, the H-D Sundowner is mentioned alot as very comfortable. The Zeppelin certainly LOOKS like it would be a winner in the comfort category but we'll have to wait for someone to chime in who's got one.

I like Corbins, they've fit me great on my two previous bikes. Now I'm using a Danny Gray and like it. In my case even the factory RK seat my bike came with is actually very comfortable for ME, it's just that I love the solo saddle look so went with the DG for everyday use. The factory seat goes back on in just a minute if I need to take a passenger.

I have no experience with the zep seat but currently have a Corbin dual touring seat on my 09 SG and love it. The seat is extremely comfortable for me; my girlfriend likes the passenger seat well but has only been on short 100 mile rides.

If you end up going with a Corbin seat I purchased mine from Tri County HD and Jenny placed the order and you get a 20% discount so it save you a fair amount over direct from Corbin. Just a thought, I had my seat in two weeks.

Good Luck with whatever you select.

I have a Corbin on my Dyna and I love it. I just put a C&C on my SG and I'm starting to appreciate that seat more and more. C&C makes a removable pillion, which I bought btw) for their solos. You can always go that route too. I just love the look of an exposed rear fender.

If you are going on a 800 mile trip a Corbin Hollywood solo is one seat that you don't want. It is a great looking seat but I couldn't imagine anything over 4 to 500 miles on it.

I have a Zepp. My **** was in a slinger already because of riding and having problems on a long trip. The RZ is really comfortable for me, plus I can adjust it around with the air bladders. Now for the passenger, my wife prefers the stock... We are in kind of a dilemma. I have not had it long enough to say anything about problems with the seat... other then on my 09 the cover rests on the frame rail and has cut the vinyl just a little under the seat. I need to fix that.

I have owned corbin in the past and I really liked it. Firm is the trend here. I liked it, but again, the wife hated it. I have not tried a Mustang though, other than at their booth in Black Hills HD. I am probably going to buy a Mustang eventually to try them. My problem is that I can't find a seat we are both happy with.

I was talking to an HD parts guy at a local dealership about replacing my stock RK seat and we discussed Corbin. I am only repeating whay he told me and that was Corbin is as of late using inferior materials, padding and so on. Can not confirm this but best of luck. Still weighing all of my options for myself and the pretty passenger. Also saw some cool passenger optional pegs that give her another place to rest her feet.

I have had a Corbin and loved it, I don't know about the Zep. I would also check C&C. That is what I have now and it is awesome. Awesome customer service, custom made and it was at my house in less than 7 days. Talk to Chuck and also mention this forum and you get 10% off. He can do just about anything you want. Good luck.

In defense of Corbin , I have never seen a better built seat than the solo I just bought. The leather is second to none, your HD parts guy must be trying to sell you a vinyl HD POS.
I went through three Harley seats in the last 2 years, (All under warranty).
