Bars First. I don't know anyone who hasn't experienced the same burning as you. I went with the Chubby 508's because I like the Road King look and didn't want to change it. My burning right shoulder stopped immediately. Since then I have added a Mustang solo with drivers backrest. I can do 10 hours in the saddle without a problem now. Hope this helps.

Another option would be WideGlide bars. THey are very comfy and work with all the stock cables and wiring. I have used them on two RoadGlides and got the idea after helping a buddy install a set on his King several years ago....
