I am fitting a 2007 touring swingarm to my old dresser, but also need a later rear wheel for it. I am trying to do this on the cheap, buying second-hand parts from the USA, which I have to ship to the UK (shipping costs are more than the purchase price for heavy parts like these!).
Does anyone know which wheels from other models will fit? Will say a Dyna or Softtail wheel fit a touring swingarm? I am looking to increase my options.
It's amazing how quickly a thread disappears out of sight on here!
OK chaps, what rear wheels other than touring will fit a 2007 touring swingarm? How about a Dyna or Softail? I am looking to increase my options getting a 'new' wheel (decent secondhand).
In my 1990 Parts List I can see that FLTs, FXRs and Softails all used the same rear wheel spindle etc, and it looks like the rear wheels were interchangeable. I don't have that info for 2007 models.
I would say that you're looking for help in an area that isn't well traveled. Your best bet would be to talk to a H-D parts counter guy.
I was coming around to that view! But it's amazing what knowledge is available here on HDF and wheels seem to get swapped around a lot. Fingers crossed!
