I do not KEEP any thing in the bags.......knife in pocket, tools I carried around for awhile and found I never used them, just do bike inspections regularly before after and during rides. I just use the bags for my coat/chaps if the weather looks to require them. May use one for my HD cooler, soda, water, beer

I'm curious to know what you all keep in your bags? I'm still trying to figure out what I need but so far I keep: manual, registration, cloth, kerchief, tools, Swiss army knife and water.
Tool bag, tire repair kit, cargo net, ballcap, bag of advil/sun tan lotion/chap stick, swiss knife, maps, reading glasses, extra pair of sun glasses w/o foam around edges, clear glasses, kleenex,
Right bag rarely gets opened........sweatshirt, shop rag, california mini duster, registration/ins/bike docs, fork bag i bought and dont use filled with tools,
Left bag...... pencil pouch from walmart with cell,$,change, keys, wallet,,,large bottle of water, leather gloves, sunglass box w/ day/night glasses, a gatorade..... still have plenty of room for buying items and leather coat/vest
I have more than enough room for everything and then some..... if only my helmet fit into one of the hard side bags
I've got a mental list of things I want to keep in there, now that I have the lid organizers, I'm going to create my mini survival kit so to speak. Right now though I've got one of them HD hard rubber kick stand pavement savers..so the bike doesnt' fall over. Pair of gauntlet gloves and liners, night time clear glasses. HD mini tool kit that comes w/the bike. Enough of an assortment to get you out of a jam, change a bulb etc...
Some things I'd like to add though..I just replaced my factory light on my SG w/a silverstar bulb. Having only one lamp on the SG...if it goes out I'm pretty much screwed w/no spots. So the OEM bulb is now in the bag too just in case. Matches, flashlight, elec tape, zip ties, spare directional bulbs, maps, registration
