I just bought a 2006 Road King Classic this past week and the PO had installed Rush-Slipons with no other Mods. Question will this create any issue down the road or does the air breather and computer need to be modified? I have the stock exchaust so I can still put those back on if need be. This RK seems shake more than my Ultra but then again its been 6 months since I've been on a bike.
Ride it about 200 miles at highway speed and then pull the plugs. If they're snow white then its running too lean and will need to be looked at. If they're toasty brown then you're good to go !!
I bought some Rush's from the HD Dealer last week and they told me that with 2" baffles you shouldn't have to do anything. Plus it's the only aftermarket slip-on's that won't void the warranty. Whatever that means.
Do you like them? I like mine, but think they could us a tad bit more sound. Much better than the stocks.
I was considering the Rush 2.0" but heard the 2.5" a couple of weeks ago, it sounded great. I don't want too loud, I like listening to the "tunes" but want just a little more sound.
No matter what slip-ons you get, there is no warranty issue.
Pipes alone should not have any effect on the burn condition of the engine. Lean, (or rich, for tha matter), starts at the air cleaner. If there has been no change on the intake side, the engine is only taking in the same amount of air as it did when tested at the factory.
Switching out the pipes is a common mod and often, my local included, done and endorsed by the dealers.

Ride the bike awhile before you change the baffles. The 2" baffle will get a little louder as the packing material burns out. I just repacked mine this weekend as they were starting to get a little too loud.
Have had the Rush w/ 2" baffles on mine for 20K miles.......
Not sure of the Db ratings new, but last week had the local
police dept do a Db reading with their Db meter....
At idle it was reading 100 Db....
They have a slightly deeper growl now than when new....
I like 'em even more now !!!!!!!!
