my detachable fairing and lowers for my 09 RK are stored for the summer. 99 degree days are miserable with them on.

Bought some for my EGC and love them. Great for the foggy mornings. And you can hide gloves, glasses, garage door opener, smokes.

I took mine off the first summer I had them - since then they've been on non-stop.
I do a lot of long distance touring and it inevitably will rain some or all of the trip.
When it's hot the vents do a respectable job of letting air through.
But when it rains the lowers block a crap load of water from hitting you.
Thought about the quick detach for a while - but it would have been a waste of moola for me!

I never take them off anymore. Used to, but found out I like it lot better with them on year around. Even in summer!

a good thread thanks for posting, as i've been on the fence with whether i want to install them on my 08 streetglide. i could buy a lot of trashbags and ductape for what the lowers would cost me. now i'm laffing at that total hillbilly visual.

I have 'em on my '09 SG with vents and Hogtunes speakers. I leave them on all year and yes, it does get a little warm here in GA, but no problems at all.
