I was 365lbs and I bought an 01 fatboy at that time I felt it was my favorite bike that I had ever ridden because before that it was shovelhead rigids for years. 09 I bought a streetglide can't believe what I was missing. They are all nice depends all on you but now that I ride the bagger the fatboy sits alone in the garage by itself a lot. good luck hard call but the riding to work daily the radio and fairing break the monotany.
I just sold my sportster, so I guess my timetable is moved up. I looked at a 2005 RK at a different dealer yesterday. This one had nice pipes, and a lot of extra Chrome. WOW, and it was a steal of a deal, so it looks like the RoadKing is the direction I will be going.
I really appreciate all the input I've recieved on this thread.
If you would've asked me 6 months ago if I'd be purchasing a Road King in 6 months, I'd have told you that your crazy, that I'm not a fan of baggers. I'll keep you posted, I'm hoping this process doesn't take very long, I don't like being without a bike.

Congrats! If you had told me that I was gonna buy a road king five minutes before I test rode one "just for the hell of it", I would've told you that you were crazy too, lol. I went to the dealership for a simple bolt and left $20k poorer. The ride is JUST THAT GOOD!!!
Well, you guys Talked me into one. The sportster is gone. Chesters Harley sold me a 2002 Black Road King. It's a good looking bike, and the only thing sore on me when I got it home 50 miles later was my hands (white knuckling, new bike)
The bummer of it all is that I leave today for Utah for Two weeks, and the bike is at home in the garage. And I didn't get pictures before I left. Harley Hooked me up with a nice leather jacket that has removable leather to make it a mesh jacket, I really love it, and its my official first peice of motorclothes, and of course a T-shirt.
As soon as I get back from my "Vacation" (quotes are because I'll be working from home the whole time lol) I'll take a bunch of pictures with our DSLR and post them in another thread.. Thank you for all your suggestions, you guys beat out the Softail gang over there!
I've ridden my FLHRCI from Md to Sturgis 4 times in the last 4 years. Couldn't ask for a better ride. Especially if you're a big guy it'll fit you perfectly. I've never heard anyone say they're sorry they bought a Road King...
