Congrats! If you had told me that I was gonna buy a road king five minutes before I test rode one "just for the hell of it", I would've told you that you were crazy too, lol. The ride is JUST THAT GOOD!!!
Maybe I'm biased but the misses and I love our RKC. Every year we take several trips and have no problems loading stuff in the saddle bags. Here's a good story. We walk into the stealership on my last birthday and she says, "pick any bike you want, any bike (including a beautiful SEUC), but, you'll have to sell your RKC. One bike at a time". I couldn't give up the smooth ride and versatility of the King. When hopping around town, removing the fairing and smoothing over to our favorite watering hole, nothing beats the King. Just my biased $0.02

Dude, you should've bought a brand new King then. Just sayin!
I really wish I could've bought a 2009 or later RKC, but it was a bit pricey.. I'm quite happy with my RK, but I wish I could ride it! I only got to ride it home before we headed off to Utah for two weeks! About half way to Utah my wife says "We should've trailored your bike to Utah, then we could've went Canyon hopping." I about swerved off the road. Why could'nt have she said that three hours before! ARGH!!! Anyway, I'll be almost as happy as when they pulled the bike up for me to ride it home when I see the garage go up, and my big black beauty sitting in the garage.
I have a softail that I am going to be selling next Spring. The ride is awful next to a 2010 Road King.
If you haven't bought one, you don't have to pay MSRP, dealers are looking to deal. I was going to buy a leftover 09, but the dealer I like sold me the 2010 at $2500 off of MSRP. At that price, it put it right in line with most 1 year old used bikes.
Please don't shoot me for my opinion of Softails, I really like the look and I will be customizining the King to look more like a Fatboy on steroids. The 6 speed is great, the power is a little lacking compared to my old softail.
