I currently ride an 07 FXDB which I love to ride but have an opportunity to buy an 02 FLHT Electra Glide Standard. One owner with 18k on the clock...owned by a 65 year old ...never dropped...guy is getting divorced and liquidating his assets.......always kept immaculate and over-serviced....I can probably get this bike for 9k.......any pros and cons about this bike are welcomed.....I dont need this bike and really want a Street Glide but this seems like an offer I just dont want to pass up...tia...
Have your riden it yet? Divorce, liquidating assets, kids need new shoes are all baiting reasons to sell something real quick. Ya just gotta figure out why someone would leave money on the table like that.
From: In the Pacific Northwest, a few hours east of Seattle.
88ci, 5 speed, and 7 (soon to be 8) years old, AND 18K miles on it.
Dunno what else he may have installed on it in the way of upgrades or bling.
If you like it, then go for it, but I'd look around to confirm whether $9,000.00 is "leaving money on the table" or not....particularly if you "really want a (2010) Street Glide".
It's all about what you want and what you're willing to pay for it.
What is funny to me is how when someone asks if a price is right and it is high or fair, someone ALWAYS points out that, with this economy you can find really good deals and the price is too high. Then when a good deal shows up, everyone wants to know why it's so cheap, must be something wrong.
Maybe the price is low simply because of the guy's stated reasons. I think it's a good price for the bike.
If you want a second bike it sounds a deal, new sg will cost almost twice as much. You'll probably spend more time on the flht once you get it. Just check the bike out good before laying the the money.
..the bike is worth 10K. If it rocks your socks and your wallet get it. BUT if a Street Glide REALLY Rocks your socks (forget your wallet right now) I'd throw the 10K down on a new S. Glide. You gotta get what you really want cause in a few short years youll be dead. (figure of speach)
