Hogtunes Amp Install
Can someone, from their experiences, tell me if the Hogtunes amp has to be wired under the gas tank to the battery on a RG ?? Can it be connected to some other wiring in the fairing ?? Thanks

Can't say for sure on a RG, but on my Ultra I ran the wire over the tank (under the console). Much easier, plenty of wire to reach. Whole bunch earier to just pop the console off than lift the tank if you ask me.
Ive run both of my installs (07 and 09) under the tank. I MAY have read on the 09s that there is room to go over the tank and under the console, but not sure.
I did speak to PEZ directly about it, and he assured me that the wiring is designed to take the heat if if you run it over the tank.
I did not unbolt my tank, just tucked it up there as best I could.
Pez is a GREAT guy to call with any questions or concerns you may have. He is reachable almost all the time, and will take the time to help you.

Ok, I was planning adding the new speakers, amp and tweeter to my 09 SG this fall.
According to the Hog Tune web site;
" The speakers “clip” into the factory grills, and the amp goes on top of the radio inside the fairing. While the stock radio is rated for 20 watts per channel, in this configuration, the Hogtunes amplifier makes 32 watts per channel (minimum) and really enhances bass and clarity while the “signature sound” of the speakers cut through exhaust and wind noise very nicely "
So if the amp mounts on top of the radio inside the fairing why would I want to mount it under the seat and route the wires up the tank?
thanks
Jeff
