Default starter

i have a 08 street glide with around 6000 miles on it. when i start it from a cold start. i feel like it drags or maybe takes longer than it should. my buddy of mine has a 06 glide and it starts and soon as you hit it. Is this something normal on the newer bikes?

I traded my 05 EG Standard for an 08 Ultra. There wasn't any difference in the way they started. You may want to have it looked at under warranty.

You might want to check your battery.

Totally different starter, ring/pinion gear ratio, and primary ratio starting in 2007, as compared with the older bikes.

They start "different".... that's normal.
