I've been down the road you and going to travel and went from a King to a Chopped. If you ever plan on a trip or even just a short weekend... BIG mistake imho. You are loosing a significant amount of space. If you just want to the bike with TP to LOOK good.... go for it and the form over function. Otherwise, give is some very serious thought.... it may be a very costly mistake.

Just my two pennies!

Ya, I have the chopped for my RG. The main reason I put it on it to be able the bring my tour bag along.

glad you posted. I have been considering dumping the king for the chopped also. Think I will stay with the king after reading this thread.

if you know how to pack, you can fit a lot into the chopped tourpak. i got a great deal on the chopped, was having a hard time justifying the higher cost for a smaller pak, but its the one i wanted anyway.

my wife rides her own bike, so between us we have 4 saddlebags and the tourpak. we are not hurting for space.
