I agree with the 5K engine oil as the manual says. Also, primary oil is every 10K and transmission oil is every 20K. Why waste the 2 quarts on the tranny and primary if you dont need to.

I change mine when the oil light comes on. I use Walmart brand car oil...seems to work good enough.

Isn't that what the oil light is there for....c'mon guys...think a little....trust your oil light!

I think that sae 30 oil for the lawn mower is a little cheaper, might want to go with that next time.

Average 525 miles a week going to/from work daily on my 2007 Ultra. I follow the service manual at 5000 for engine oil and longer for tranny/primary.

However, I keep an eye on the oil and if it looks too dirty, will change it earlier.

Dealerships love to tell you every 2500 miles, I would too if I could sell you an oil change for $300+ dollars!

I buy oil based on price and use. Summer I run HD Dino straight 60 wt. Usually run whatever the cheapest motorcycle Dino 20-50 wt. is the rest of the time.

I do buy the premium filters though.

Use synthetic and change every 5k miles. Most of my miles are highway. If I did a lot of city riding, I'd probably change a little more often.
