Default Helmet finish....flat or gloss??

Dang!....I get hung up on some of the silliest things sometimes.[] Shoping for a new "lid"....going with the Vega XTS. Now I can not decide if I go with flat black(rubber) or glossy?

Any good reason other than looks I should consider?

What was your preference??

The flat black will likely show finger prints and smudges. I've found that silver is a great color.....reflects the heat, shows up well day and night.

I agree but as to original post I go by the rule of: bike has flat paint = flat paint helmet, glossy paint = glossy helmet.

Just my personal preference.

I think the gloss would give some added cager protection. Can't be too visible IMHO.

I have seen some helmets where it is half flat and half gloss, the best of both worlds...

Flat looks bad pretty quick.
Gloss cleans up nicer.

I like flat black, just take care of it.

My preference is the VEGA leather, very practical/durable, looks good, excellent fit/quality/price and it's SO simple to clean. Shiny helmets...SUCK!

GO WITH WHITE. EASIER TO SEE, COOLER AND EASIER TO KEEP CLEAN. YOU HAVE TO REPLACE HELMETS EVERY 5 YEARS ANYWAY. DOESNT MAKE SENSE TO PUT A LOT OF MONEY INTO THEM. IF YOU DROP A NEW HELMET FROM WAIST HIGH YOU MUST REPLACE IT BECAUSE IT WILL HAVE LOST ITS PROTECTING ABILITY THEN. IF YOU DONT DROP IT ITS GOOD TO GO FOR 5 YEARS. AFTER THAT KAPUT.
