I posted a thread about a month ago letting folks know that I was having problems with a trunk leak on my glide. Been back to the Harley shop three times, have changed the gasket twice and adjusted the latch pins twice, still leaking. Last time at the shop I played with the trunk on a 2010 and when you closed the trunk you could hear the air being forced out. No news on leaks on the 2010's. Supposingly, HD has another gasket that supposed to be the fix. They're going to install it next week and we'll see what happens. Would appreciate if anyone else out there has had the same issues and what the fix was.
Kinda dissapointed as well with some other stuff, right front lens on the turn indicator fell apart in my hand when I was doing some clean up. Passenger intercom reciever plug door spring broke after only opening and closing it a few times. Gas tank locking latch spring broke, wouldn't stay closed. Small stuff right, not if you pay what we do for this machine. And, last but not least, is it my imagination, or does this machine run much hotter than a regular Electrglide? Oh, almost forgot, before I picked it up, I had them install chrome slider fork covers in place of the factory ones. I brought it in for the 10000 mile check up and upon picking up the scoot, the ticket had a line on the back that read,"removed and remounted front tire in proper rotation. No one informed me about it, if I hadn't read it, I wouldn't have known about it. Excuse me for not checking the proper tire rotation when I first picked it up, but give me a break. Understand this, I am a dedicated HD rider and have been for over 15 years. I have owned at least 7 new Harleys and four used ones in that time. This is the first time I have ever had issues and it just erks me that HD has not jumped to get this resolved.
The new trunk seal is an -09A pn# as used on the 2010's. It is supposed to cure the issue. It is a known problem and there was a bulletin out about it.
