Well, according to this article I did most things wrong, with the exception of changing the oil and filter.

Just got my SGlide three weeks ago....dealer told me "70MPH and 3000RPM for the first 50 miles, then 80MPH and 3000RPM for the next 450". I was also told to vary the speed on a regular basis. Get out there and have some fun!

Ok I took everyone's advice and just rode it anywhere between 55 and 70 and I put on over 300 miles, I have never exceeded 3k RPM yet but this thing is nice. Just got home off of RT 93 never seen so many bikes and fried my butt off at a tool both (EZ Pass next). Only seen one bike broken down a fairly new silver Ultra, the tow truck was right behind her. The only other complaint I have is the windshield either it's too short or too tall. I'm going to have the dealer check the transmission makes a weird sound after it gets hot and I shift, although the shifting is smooth sounds like kling.
