I was leaving a DR's Appoint in Northwest DC and saw on TV that the Pentagon was on fire and thought how big of a fire it was. On the way down the elevator I heard people talking about NY as well. I then drove as fast as I could for over 100 miles to the base. As I was driving around the beltway I could see the smoke rising from DC. I figured if I was pulled over, I was in uniform and wouldn't have an issue.

I will never EVER forget September 11, 2001. It feels like just yesterday when I woke up and heard the news.
Every September 11, 2001, I am in a very somber mood because of the events that occurred that very tragic day.
I pray for everyone that was lost on that day and their families all the time.

I got up this morning, and put up my stars & stripes. I was SHOCKED to see that I was the only one on my street flying the colors!! I hope I just beat everybody to it!
