so what can i do? funny you mention the RK i was thinking of one today seems the sheild would be great and wouldnt have to buy lowers which i feel are unappealing to the eye
ups guy do have a pic of the kw 12in? it seems to me the batwing would be more aerodynamic
Here are a couple, When i test rode the RG they had one with the KW 12inch screen and I told them i wanted to ride it because if it had buffeting I wasnt going to buy a RG, I rode it and loved it!! The last one is with the 8 inch KW.
just aggravated i have the kw 8in and its no good and as far as test riding i did i rented one but it was an 09 this one is horrible i may get a sg with the batwing this really sucks
I dont know about the RG, but I am here to tell you the SG has a lot of wind above 50 mph. And people who have riden both will tell you there is less wind with the RG
Well since you didn't mention what 5 different shields you tried, not really sure I can be of any help.
The stock shield looks awesome but is worthless over 50 mph. I've got a Clearview 11 1/2 inch on the way for highway runs. I will also add detachable lowers. If you think a batwing will be better, I'd think again, but that's just me.

Play some more with shields. The SG sucks just as much. My KW windshield makes it bearable, but my vision gets blurred over 65mph from the buffeting. I'm 5'10".
I picked the SG over the RG Custom because I could hear the stereo better at speed. The RG does handle and ride better. Just manage the wind and you'll be happy...
bob 37, the new roadglide is a great bike. and if i remember right, the fairing was the only one that harley actually did use a wind tunnel to help with the design. the windshield that comes on the 2010 roadglides is about as useless as the stock streetglide windshield and stock seat. they both look great on the showroom floor, but once you get it out on the road, you'll realize that the windshield is just there because it appeals to the look rather than the function. bobzilla has the coolest looking roadglide ever, and he's got a windshield on his that looks very sleek and has that flip designed into it to quell the buffeting. it may be the cee baileys windshield. give the bike a chance, you'll be glad you did. my streetglide came with that ridiculous 4 or 6 inch shield. replaced it immediately with the 10" , and now have a longride windshield on it. very happy with it. you'll be very happy with your roadie if you give it a chance. i still think it's harleys best bike, even though i own a lowly sg. next bike will be one though. most guys who own them would not go back to a batwing, and that speaks volumes.
