I found out that Avon and Metzler both make a WWW for our Road King Classics. I just bought a set for mine at the "motorcyclesuperstore" on line. 288.00 for both and I'll have them installed myself. I'll let you know whether or not the rear lasts more than the schmidlaps have been lasting (8k).

8K? I have over 12K on my stock Dunlops, and they still have life. And I ride mostly (95%) 2 up. How do you guys wear out a tire in 8K miles?

I do love the WWW's so I hope to get another set when these are ready, but I do want to get a "better" ride from the next ones.

Yeah, something is wrong if you are only getting 8k outta Dunlops. I just replaced my rear today. It had 12,105 miles on it and wasn't down to the wear bars. I felt bad about taking it off so soon and wouldn't if I wasn't riding from Va to SC and being gone for 7 days next week...As far as front tires go, my first went 39k miles. The second had 25k on it and still looked great when I took it off only because I had a new one with some age on it sitting around.

I just replaced both my tires with another set of Dunlop 402's. The front had about 33k on it and the back had 18k on it. I've had great luck with the 402's.

Must be the roads your riding on to get 12,000 out of a tire. I only get on average 9,000 on a rear Dunlap 402.

I'm running Dunlops too, happy with them.
