Street Glide Shocks Leaking Air
There are many things that can leak on an air shock. The air only applies spring load on the outer spring only. No valving changes, nothing but a spring pre-load. The air could, in your case, leak past the white inverted nylon plastic spring pre-load cup and than leak out of the many other seals as shown.
All air shocks & air bags works with a simple damper which is nothing more than a piston connected to the shaft which slides up & down in a cylinder with a hole on the side. The oil is sucked into the cylinder and pushed out on the cylinder through the orifice (hole), When putting in heavier oil you are are in essence making the hole smaller and heavier oil produces stiction, a form of friction. What is achieved is making the damper move with less efficiency than designed. These shocks cost HD around $12.36/each in China according to my contacts there. Look for yourself:
