It looks like you already have a nice bike. Were you lookin' to add to the stable?

I doubt if that dealership does very well this year and if HD starts shutting dealers off of new bikes like the auto manufacturers did it's likely they will be one of the first to go.

We are looking at a couple more years of recession so the chances of that happening are high.

No, was just looking to trade, seen something shiney that had my interest, I'm over it now.

Oh, it was a CVO SG, so not much of a chance of just running into one on the showroom floor. Maybe that dealer thinks it will sale itself.

With layoffs and production cut backs you'll see fewer bikes and dealers not dealing as much. I hope it bits them in the ****.

Oh. Yeah. The dealer probably didn't want to sell it at all. He probably wants to keep it on the floor as long as possible to get people down there to check it out and maybe buy something else at the parts counter or on the floor while they are there.

Just surmising. I don't know of course.

You would think Harley dealerships are selling these bikes fast as they can get them with some of their prices and trade they are wanting to give. They are going to shoot them selves in the foot if not carefull.I went to look at a 2010 Roadking thinking of trading my 08 Street Glide with 6,000 miles till they offerd me $9,500 and not coming off their price any.Man they are getting greedy or buisness is good lol.

I'm amazed that some dealerships just don't get it. Buying a bike should be fun, and you should walk out of there thinking you got a good deal, and that you were treated like a king.

Price is important, but sometimes the little things can make a huge difference. Like offering you a coffee or a soda to make you comfortable while you wait.

The best experience I ever had was when I bought a my previous truck. The sales guy sat down and made sure he understood what was important to me, and in what order. I drove a hard bargain, and told him I wasn't here to dick around.

Ten minutes later, we shook hands. He let me take the new truck (I was on my lunch hour), and told me to come back after work to sign the papers. It wasn't the price that made me want to go back there, it was the way I was treated with respect and honesty.

The dealers in the Atlanta area don't seem to have any trouble at selling CVO bikes, I have not seen one yet in a showroom without a SOLD sign on it. Maybe this is why he didn't have much interest in "trading" with you, maybe he knows someone will come in and pay MSRP or more for the bike without him having to sell your bike to make his money.

Lots of dealers and the Ones that deal will survive .. They might hang in another year or two but the Ax will fall eventually .. I have run into a few like that and 2 of them are gone already..

My dealer had two salesman (this summer), now they have only one. The funny thing is the one that is left rides a Honda and the other one that went back the parts counter doesn't even own a motorcycle.

I know they aren't paid enough to buy from my dealership but come on, you are trying to sell me a Harley and you ride a HONDA?

But I mst say the two salesmen they had before these two did ride Harleys, but both of them were absolutely terrible at sales.

I guess I'm just ranting because he wouldn't hire me as a salesman four salesman ago. LOL
