Default Zumo & Memory Cards???

Went to Walmart tonight to get a SD card for my Zumo.

Apparently they have 2 styles of SD cards out.
SD
SDHC
The SDHC packages reads "compatible with SDHC devices only"

These cards are the same except the HC part, which stands for High Capacity.

Does anyone know if the SDHC cards work in the Zumo's?
Also, is there a maximum capacity card that the Zumo will accept?
By that I mean, is a 512MB card the largest a Zumo will recognize?

I put a Transcend 8GB microSDHC card in my HD Zumo 660 and it works fine. I've heard of people having success with some 16 GB cards too.

Yes it'll work. Get a large one and use files for MP3's.

I use a 4gb sdhd card in my Zumo 550. It holds about 1000 songs. You'll need to place the songs in folders on the card. If you just copy 1000 songs onto the card without a folder structure, it'll take your zumo upwards of 10 minutes before the navigation works. It must have a very small processor and therefore takes quite awhile to read all thousand songs before the nav can function but only a few seconds to read the folders.

I've used an 8GB SDHC in my 550...no problems...they're "faster" from what I understand and if you're using it for video (which you're not in this case) they're better suited. Just be sure your "reader" is SDHC compatible.
I'm a fan of Transcend cards...great quality for a great price (Amazon.com). I haven't found a better/faster card out there for close to the money. You can read the reviews on Amazon.

When buying these cards...pay attention to the little number on the front...it signifies the Class...higher the number...the faster they are. If there is no Class number, you can assume it's "slow". This is important for the Zumo if you're accessing POI's or music. Personally, I don't buy one unless it's at least Class 4.

Not sure about the 550, but the Zumo 660 (I replaced my 550 with one) info says it works with card up to 8GB...can't imagine why the 16GB won't work though. I haven't tried one bcuz I don't want to waste the $ if it doesn't work since it's the only device I have that uses the microSD. Hate the darn little things. Snapped one installing the battery. Poor design on Garmin's part.
