Default Road Glide vs. Street Glide - help with decision

After riding a Road Glide today at Latus HD (It was a new '10). I'm pretty much set on moving from my King to a Road Glide.

I'm aware of the potential wind buffeting issue and the various workarounds to address that aspect.

I'm still a bit unsure about RG vs. SG. I know the difference in the fairing attachment and the size/distance to the fairing. I like the headlight output on the RG and the lighter steering control with the fairing being frame mounted. And like many, I think the SG looks a little cooler head on, but the RG looks better in side view (to me). But the looks difference isn't enough to determine my decision.

I'd really appreciate hearing your thoughts on the RG vs. the SG. Thank you, in advance!

According to what you wrote, I think you have answered your own question.

Default Not much I can add

I rode them both before I made my decision. I thought the SG rode and looked better. I like the feeling of a bike and the wind in my hands you get with a bar mounted fairing.
I didn't buy right away. A few months later I walked into the dealership and I saw that 09 pewter pearl SG. She just spoke to me and something clicked and now shes mine.
Not sure if something clicked for you or not. I just knew when I saw her it was gonna be right.
Like Nova said, it seems like you already answered your own question.
If nothing clicked, the RG rides better, and the SGs looks don't sway you, buy the road glide.

If your a big guy, you might find the RG a little more roomy. I know I feel cramped on a batwing bike. Better yet come buy mine I'm just a couple hours south

+1 on big guys feeling cramped on a SG. Also, since I wear reading glasses these days, I had a hard time seeing the guages.

Yeah... I'm 6'1" about 190 lbs. Not really "BIG" but on the bigger side. I found the RG to be very spacious and comfortable. I like the lower, more open dashboard on the RG than the EG batwing (which I guess is something like the SG). When I got back on my 2004 RK Custom (which has always felt "like home" to me) I immediately felt a bit of a cramped feeling that I have never felt before. I guess the new chassis really does make a difference for taller guys and I got used to that spaciousness quickly!

On the 2010 RG that I test rode, I don't think it had any windshield whatsoever on it... as I recall, the top edge of the fairing was where it ended. Felt fine to me riding it.

I sure love my 95 ci '04 RK Custom and it runs like a top!

But, I think a 2010 black denim RG is soon to be in my garage.

You already have a great bike, but if you must; Check AMCHD in Albany or Doyles in Eugene. Latus is way to proud of there bikes. I bought my king from Doyles and they are really nice people. AMCHD has advertised some great deals as well and they always have 20% off sales.

You're too late now, but a month or so ago they had all 09 touring bikes $2000 off. The temptation almost got the best of me......
