broke it in few weeks ago with just shy of 1000 mile trip to a friends memorial ride in md, from nc. with the wife aswell. i loved it! smooth, comfy, ( but highway pegs are in the future) jamming the tunes with cruise... sweet! bike ran flawless and had no issues cept for on the way home in heavy traffic round richmond, doing 85 mph, kept feeling this pushing/bumping from the back... took me alittle bit to nail down what it was... the wife was falling asleep! LMAO... we stopped to get coffee and wake her up some but all in all a sweet ride!

I put Kury Dually ISO pegs (wide) on the Longhorn mounts and love it. I have them so that I can just rest my heel on the floorboard and my toes on the pegs. Just enough stretch to make it comfortable. If I really want to stretch then I pop my boots up on the pegs themselves.
Put on a rider's adjustable backrest and the Kury rear passenger armrest ... that pretty much surrounds your wife ...
Congrats on your new bike. I'm loving my Ultra every second, minutes, hours, days, weeks and months go by. Greatest bike so far. Be prepared to spend the extra dough you tried to save...It's gone and on the Ultra, LOL.
Congrats on the scoot. I don't like when the wife falls asleep back there. I'm afraid she'll have one of those abrupt wake ups and scare the crap out of me.
Mine does it all of the time, to 2 times this weekend, i know she's gone when the helmets start clanking together. It's all good she's good to go, not going anywhere! I hope!!
My wife falls to sleep once in while too when she is on the back of my bike. I'm always afraid she will fall off. It becomes a real pain when you have to try to keep them awake because you are afraid they will fall off. Takes all the fun out of riding!
I also have a friend that rides his bike with me and he has trouble staying awake sometimes. His wife has to poke him when she notices the bike slowing down. I usually can tell he is having trouble staying awake when he starts to fall behind. He stops for an energy drink and he is fine again. I will never understand how anyone can fall to sleep while riding their bike since there is so much stimulus (sights, sounds, feel, etc.) going on when you are riding.
Congrats on your first road trip on the new scooter. There's nothing like a big road trip on a H-D! I just got back from a 3day 1500 mile trip (San Diego to SE Utah) with a couple buddies and we had a great time.
We did 720 miles the first day and believe it or not the factory seat on my '09 RK was completely comfortable even after 15 hrs on the road - Zero discomfort so I'm one of the lucky ones who the factory seat fits well I guess.
