I have an 08 street glide with a sundowner seat. My wife is now riding on the back. Any opinions as to the ultra classic being any more comfortable for the passenger than my sg? I know the sg has shorter shocks. Other than that does the ultra classic have any other comfort advantages?
I don't think there is any comparison between the two. The Ultra is longer (couple of inches), has better stock shocks and comes with a lounger for a backseat rider.
Yes it does, the passenger backrest is a heck of a lot more comfortable than an upright. Unless you changed the pegs to boards, those would be more comfortable for the passenger as well. Not to mention the rear speakers. Also comes with fairing lowers to knock down some wind.
You might need to buy the Ultra shocks. That is the cheapest way for you right now.
Other than that the only thing that will help her is a bigger windshield when she rides. Three screws and about 3 minutes to change windshields.....and I'm slow.
Short answer is she will be much more comfortable on the UC. Long answer is What is causing her discomfort? Is the the crappy shocks? or the windflow? If it is just the crappy shocks, and she is happy with her backrest and airflow, a good set of custom built shocks from Howard at motorcylce metal would be the cheapest fix.
