Hi, I just joined this site..and also just bought an 09 Road Glide (my 5th harley and LOVE the bike!)..I just came back from a 1400 mile road trip on the new bike and The one thing I realized is I need a new windshield!..
Please, any advice..what are your favorites for the Road Glide?!
Cheers,
+5 on the Clearview Windshields,it took me 6 different types of windshields but when I put the Clearview on I knew it was the one. I can actually hear cars pulling up along side of me at 75mph on the highway. I have the stock stereo and I only keep it turned up on 4-5 bars and I hear it very well. The pocket of air it creates for me and my wife is really unbelievable. The only thing I would change is instead of buying the stock I would buy the next size up,only because I like looking through the shield and with the Clearview you can use Rain-X.
You may find that a lot of the buffeting you feel is actually coming up from underneath the fairing, that's why alot of guys have added lowers. the windshield is the cheaper fix but if you don't get what you want you may have to try the lowers.
The Clearview GT Short has been perfect for me. I like looking over the top and I still have great protection.
A lot depends on your height and how you sit when you ride. I'm 5' 10" but I slouch after being in the saddle for awhile so the short works well for me.
I have a C/V GT short (14" windscreen) for sale. About 2000 miles, I'd rate it (condition) about 8.5 to 9 out of 10. I'm asking $100 plus shipping. I paid over $200 new. With my custom seat it's too tall. Other than that great workmanship.
from what i understand, Longride shields, a site sponsor is working on making windshields for the roadglides. if they're anything like the one on my streetglide, they're gonna sell a ton of them. excellent quality, and customer service has been the greatest.
