Jeeez!
Coulda saved some cash if I would have known about the heim joint on ebay!
Broke one ball joint this summer at the dealership and they didn't have any of those ball joints left. They had whole assemblies but didn't want to break them down. They did look through the shop at least, everywhere they could think of, even the scrap bin. Ended up with one of the new FLHX billet ones.

Some people don't ride their bikes and their linkage lasts forever. Mine failed on my 06 UC with 25,000 miles on it. Stock linkage was the first to go on my 09. Bought one in Daytona with "US Army" on it with, of course, Heim joints.

My buddy's front linkage fell off about half way back from Sturgis. I fixed it with a zip tie and it got him 400 miles back home. After reading this and a couple other threads on this, I think I'll carry some heim joints in my saddlebag from now on.

Izzo, Install the heim joint on your bike and keep the stock ones in your bag for your friends. You won't need them any more.
