I'm approaching the end of my 2 year factory warranty on my '08 Screamin' Eagle Ultra. The bike is a keeper, and I want to purchase the Harley extended warranty. Do dealers discount the warranty -- if so, how much have you heard? I had 1 dealer tell me they would take 10% off. Thanks.
I guess it's all about how far you are willing to travel to get your bike serviced.
I'd scout the local HD dealers in your area and find out what they offer. Lets face it...it is what it is and its not going to do any good if I tell you a dealer in NJ is going to give you 20% off if you live in NC.....
Make sure you compare "apples to apples", there are alot of different types of extended warranty. I have been quoted from $600 to $1,000 for the two year extended warranty. It's like everything else we buy for our bikes, one dealer wants MSRP for everything and the next one wants your business and will give a 20% discount for the same product. So shop around and save some $$$$$$$$. Good luck

Unless I'm mistaken, that's his question: what dealers are selling the ESP at a discount. Chicago HD used to sell them at 20% off, but not any more. So who knows a dealer selling ESPs under retail?
We have 3 HD dealers in our city. I called each one and told them I wanted their best price for the extended warranty and told them I was shopping around.
One said they would not discount the extended warranty. I said fine, so I won't being buying from you.
Another said they would give me $100 off right off the bat. I said I would get back with him.
And the third got in to a big verbal fight with me. He wanted me to tell him what the others were willing to sell it for. I kept telling him to give me his best price and I was not about to show my hand by telling him what others were willing to sell it for. He kept saying how can I help you if you don't tell me what the others are going to charge. I didn't give in and that got him mad. He was actually yelling at me over the phone. I finally told him I was through with arguing with him and ended the conversation. An hour later he calls be back and says he is sorry for what happened. He said he talked to the general manager and the general manager said they could knock $150 off.
So hang in there and shop around. Don't let them bully you and stand your ground.
