06 FLHTI. 8 degree injectors. Just had the 1K service, Dyno'd with SERT. Was 94 here in Atlanta yesterday. No issues whatsoever... I put about 200 miles on it yesterday. Even sat in that old familiar Atlanta traffic for about 30 minutes...
Smooth as silk...
Also started it up this morning. And guess what. I litterally started right up like I had been riding it all night...
8's on a 06 streetglide and having a slight issue, it is scheduled to get them replaced tomorrow. I have about 4600 miles and it will stall when cold, goes into heat management when it is only 75 degrees out, farts out the intake. This is my first HD and as i really like the bike i sold a honda VTX with 30k trouble free miles for this bike. The bike sometimes acts as though i have a carb with poor jetting, this has been happening since i bought it 3 months ago. The dealer talked me into a stage I and mufflers in hopes that this would solve the problem. But hey this isnt my only issue with my $19k bike, the gas gauge fogs up, the fairing has a rattle, front brakes sound like they are down to bare metal....i guess this is part of the HD image.
06 SG - took delivery in January. I'm still runnning the 8's. Initially I had a rough idle, it was down around 750rpm. At the 1k service I told the dealer about it - they loaded a new map and adjusted the idle. No problems since. I have added B&E Superflow mufflers and the HD Stage 1 A/C and download. Still runs great. I have a feeling it's more of a mapping issue than an issue with the injectors - but that's just my opinion...
8's for almost 6,000mi. added TFI less than 1000 miles ago because of true duals and pipes and deciding what a/c to get.
Rode in 40's and now almost 100 today, I'm happy.
Seems to be alot of EX VTX owners getting Harley and aren't happy.......
While at Americade i spoke to one of the HD reps and he agreed that my bike shouldnt run like it does, i even tried theirs and it was fine. As for the VTX thing....yes i used to have a VTX 1800 and maybe i was used to a bike that ran flawless for 30k miles no matter what i did to it or through at it.
I think it is clear that some of the 06 bikes had injector problems and a lot of them did not. I have an 06 street glide and I ablolutely love the bike. I did have an issue of the bike going into heat management mode when it should not have and it did stall. This was after a SERT w/ dyno tune, pipe and SE air cleaner and an oil cooler had been installed. My dealer changed the 8's for the 25's without any cost or issue and I never had the problem again. I also got much better gas mileage 44.5 mpg consistantly up from 40.
This is an outstanding bike. One minor issue is no big deal. My dealer has been very good about getting the bike right. Street Glide is the best for me.
Still new Roak King Classic with 8's. Runs great - 97 degrees and 90% humidity in DC traffic. Did go into heat mode, but only after idling on the beltway for a while - never stalled.
8's with 10k ,miles, never a problem,........heat management a couple times in mid summer sitting in traffic last year for about 30 minutes. Otherwise,...I ride the crap out of it in hot conditions,....never any trouble starting,.....on cold days it starts fine as well. Guess I got a good one.
Stage 1 w/download
SE slip-ons
.................otherwise engine is stock
