I talked to bub rep yestreday about pros & cons of bub7 and the brouhard systems. said that the sound was a little louder from 7's, deeper from brouhards. the performance was little better from 7's due to stepped headers. (brouhards are smooth) but couldn't say really how much. (for my setup) . he only had personal experience w/ the 7's. both are excellent choices and I understand that its my choice, but some other users input will be welcome. after all
-information is power- he was helpfull and more was talked about but hell, still dont know which way to go. leaning to the brou. but----- new system will be tds and be bought in about 2 weeks. I need so of your first hand review and evals. my ride is an 07 flhrc, seac, pcIII. and chrome- lots- stock motor for now $$$$$
Macride, the guy "should" have told you the Bub 7 true duals were designed for large displacement high output motors. By large I'm talking 113"+. On a stock motor you'll really loose on the low and mid range.
I did ask that very question and the reply was " not at all, it will work nicely on a stocker" and as I replied I won't be towing a trailer and don't hot rod it I should be good? that is why I'm here
This is my .02...it's your money. I'm stating from what I know from my experience with Bub 7 pipes. Sounds to me like you talked to a sales rep that was bound and determined to sell you a set of pipes. But, like I stated above, this is only .02...
yea ,sounded that way to me also, but just trying to get some info on the brou. not much out here. not buying from them direct anyway and .02 is still a step to the cause. thanks btw how do you like the 7's would you recommend them?
I love the 7's, I run them on my 07SG, stock motor. I found better power than my V&H truedual setup. Just be prepared for noise, they are loud. I switched to the 7 Stealth muff and love it.
I'm half deaf anyhow 33 years working on jets. my wife says I don't listen so must be true lol any prob with low end tq loss or will a good tuner be able to dial it in? got one that come very highly recommended
I went with the Bub 7s after exhaustive research trying to find the "best" pipe out there for a 124" motor. The numbers are 120/130 respectively. Pipes are probably costing me 10 lbft of tq. I'm a bigger fan of 2-1 but the only one designed two years ago for a big motor was the D&D Boarzilla. I had ran the Boarzilla on a 116" motor for two weeks, I couldn't take the noise.
The Bub 7s do show a flat spot at about 2800 rpm but I can't feel it driving. I'm looking VERY close at the new V&H Hi-po 2-1 but haven't seen numbers from anything larger than a 113" yet.
Any size true duals will adversely effect a stock motor. Optimum would be a good 2-1 like a Supertrapp or D&D Fatcat.
