I was wondering if, sense they introduced the current style Road Glide, did Harley ever make a Ultra Classic (Tour Glide Ultra Classic ) version of it? I am wanting a full on Ultra Classic bike, but with the "shark" fairing instead of the more common "Bat wing" style fairing.... If Harley did build this bike, what model year was it made, or am i stuck building my own Ultra out of a 2009 Road Glide? Thanks in advance for any help with this.

I just got done adding hard lowers to my Road Glide. At this point, it is pretty close to an Ultra.
HD just came out with the harness to add the Ultra intercom. That will be my Winter project.
Dawg, Are you guessing or do you have inside information?
The CARB engine certifications come out about 2-3 weeks before HD releases their actual models so we can usually figure out what the new models are. The FLTRX was listed and look what we got. The FLTRU was also listed...we have not seen it yet but we know what a U stands for.
Called FLTRU, supposed to be coming in January for a mid year release.
Dawg, check your HD 2008 Touring Models service manual's wiring diagrams. If you check those for the FLHTC, FLHTCU, FLHX, etc., (except Road King), you will see one with a special note regarding FLTR and FLTRU. I was looking at those diagrams a couple of days ago at my local dealer (main, interconnect, turn signal/etc., audio) and noticed the FLTRU model designation in the upper left corner of one of the wirng diagrams.
I'm traveling and can't get to it right now. But, I was stunned to see the FLTRU model designation in the 2008 SM.
