Some post that they install the Sat Radio Antenna "under" the faring, on top of the radio. Is there no loss of signal with it mount under the faring???
I've had mine mounted there for about a year and I get full signal all the time. No problems with it at all, I also installed a AM/FM antenna inside the fairing and get great signal with that too.
Mine Roady antenna is the little 1" square with the magnetic base. I stick it on the only magnetic surface I can find--the ignition switch. I switch it back and forth from the bike to the truck so I have to keep it where I can take it with me.
The Harley HK radio upgrade in '06-07 for XM includes a small metal antenna mounting bracket that mounts inside the fairing. Contact your dealer (or perhaps someone here can supply the info) and ask for a kit breakdown for the XM satellite upgrade. The breakdown will give a part number for the bracket and it is available for seperate purchase. I bought one pending installation of my satellite radio, but don't have the part number.
Mine is on the dash with double sided tape.I pulled the end off of Mine and didn't want to take the fairing of to replace it at the time so it landed on the dash.
Mine is at the dealer having the XM installed today. The bracket holds the antenna under the fairing and was pretty cheap. Anyone have to buy a new wire harness though?? They show a $100 charge on my invoice for one... I can't really complain though, the dealer really stepped out on the pricing for the XM kit since HD still hasn't been able to keep my CD player from skipping... (Three Radios later and nothing but drama... Life's too short.).
