Be careful, you could really hurt yourself jumping that far in one jump!

Pretty dramatic change. Good choice. Too bad you couldn't keep the sporty. They're fun to have in the garage when friends that fly in stop by. Well done.

Thanks for the welcomes! My plan was to keep the Iron then get the SG but that was going to take too long so since I had to pick one the SG won.

Thanks!

Well here I am 8 days and 600 miles later... I have to say the SG is a great bike.

I'm still playing with the air in the rear shocks based on riding solo or two up and bags empty or full as well. Not having the proper air in them can make for a stiff ride but now that I'm getting it figured out it's really smooth.

I'm making a couple of changes to suit my size better as well... I'm 5'9" with a short inseam so I just purchased a Reach seat so I can get flat footed and I'm now looking into an adjustable rider backrest to provide a little more support for the longer rides. I also just ordered a Clearview 8.5" recurve windscreen to help with the wind buffet. I don't mind wind hitting me directly but the buffet is not good.

All in all I can't believe how much more comfy this bike is and how I ever got along without saddlebags... for me and my schedule it allows me to ride a lot more and being able to carry an extra helmet for a passenger here and there too. Last week I brought dinner home twice too... Chinese one night and subs the next. This may sound silly but it's frickin cool!

Thanks for this great site and all the great folks involved to help me learn about my new toy! I was versed in Sportys but this is a whole new beast.

You made a good choice. The difference must be like night and day. I have no regrets buying my SG more than a year later and 7,000 miles. Good luck with her.
