I picked up some HD saddlebag liners and associated HD pocket hangers, they were used like new on eBay. Trouble is, the added thickness of both under the quarter turn fasteners will not allow the pins to engage. Does anyone know if slightly longer pins are available?
I'd love to know the answer to this, too. The parts guy told me "no," so I'm probably going to just go with bolts. It would make me feel a little safer anyway, with all the topics about those pins failing.
I had the same problem with mine. I ended up cutting the hole in the pocket hangers out so that they would fit over the rubber grommet on the hard bag. Works great. I did this after I ruined a couple of pins.
Do you know what size bolts you used? I was planning to do something similar maybe with a wingnut. But if you know the bolt sizes and length, it may save me some frustration trying to get the right sizes.
