Buy the bike you want, not the bike that makes the most sense. I went to buy a EGC but I really wanted a Streetglide. I rode out on the Streetglide and haven't stopped smiling. Yeah, I bought a Tourpack for long trips and I put the lowers on and it cost me bucks to do it, but I love this bike. It's exactly what I wanted.
I was planning a move up to the CVO Street Glide until I saw them in person, didnt care for them at all. I like the cleaner lines of the Street Glide over the Ultra but I would now like to add a tour pack
I am confused by your post. No where do you mention that you want to get rid of your RK and get an Ultra or Street Glide only that the dealer is trying to convience you with a sweet trade. So I will ask, why do want to part ways with your RK?
That much pressure huh? Yea, I sold them too. Money is made on resale (higher % profit if bought right and sold quick). That explains why "she" wants to buy so badly and a new bike sale... not a bad bonus. Think twice, buy once.
Silver Slider, You do make sense. I am very attached to my RKC but and that is a BIG but, I wont find a better deal next year. That is a major motive for me. I am almost loosing nothing on the bike. I am basically torn between the logical person that thinks it is the 'right time' to sell and the emotional person who is in love with his king.
Masterblaster, yeah I reside in Cairo. Crazy crowded and darn driving habits. But i use the King only when I am traveling with my riders. We are almost 200 riders in Cairo. Not much at all, but it is something for this part of the world where we pay 50% import duties and the dealer charges twice as much for the accessories. Tough life ;-)
dont know... im still a noob here and thats what the dealer told me to do. i test rode a street glide and while i liked the look the stock sheild was too short, so he tells me the ultra is the same $$$ but more stuff. i wanted stereo so i went for the rear speakers and trunk...think the cost for a color matched trunk was round 3000 plus the hardware to mount??.. so it was a no brainer for me
