Default Making the jump

Well the wife and I finally decided to move on up. My first bike is an Iron I bought new in April. I could not be happier with that bike and wish I could keep it but money doesnt grow on trees. We narrowed our choices down and the Street Glide won out on comfort. I havent driven one yet but hope to soon. It will be nice to have a windshield and rear seat. Anything I should watch out for when buying? Its going to be a new one in the spring and I trust the dealer Im going to as he sold me the first and I got a great deal on that one. I prefer Black Denim, any pics?

SG rear seat isn't comfy, for long hauls.

My sentiments exactly. At least he trusts his dealer

Test ride anything... At least ride it... Sitting on it in the showroom won't do a damn thing. If that were the case, the new HD trike is real comfortable... I nearly fell asleep sitting on it.

I have to disagree; I bought my Road King because it looked far more comfortable on the website, and in person it was so much faster...... Cause it was black

I know I havent ridden one but my dealer is great and spends ample time with us. We sat on the bike for 30 or so minutes, I know its not riding it but it gives my butt and hers a chance to find fault. I have looked at the reach seat as another option also. Riding one is difficult as most dealers in my area dont allow test rides, Greater Boston area.
As for the Road Glide it doesnt do it for us in the looks department. A friend has one and it is a great bike, I have driven it twice.
Yes I trust my dealer, after selling Mercedes, Bentley, BMW and Rolls Royce I know if I am getting screwed or not. I bought the Iron when it was a hot seller and paid MSRP, no freight or set up and also got the first service thrown in. To me thats a good deal.

Any touring model is going to be better for comfort than what you currently have. Pick what you like, and go for it. But I definitely ride it FIRST. If you have to, rent one or two models for a day. Often times you can split a day (1/2 each model) and ride two that you're thinking of buying. A good dealer will deduct the price of the rental off your acquisition price. Go for it.
