Have got an 05 Ultra which I had a 103 put in last year. I left the stock starter in and worked fine except for when very hot it would struggle to start, so I decided on an Ultima heavy duty starter. Installed the starter and everyhting was fine and about half way through the summer started having issues when about half the time the bike would not fire. It would crank over no problem but not fire after a couple of tries it would always start. I took the bike into the dealer where it was for two weeks, dealer says that they have ckecked everything from wheel to wheel and can not find any problems at all. I picked up the bike with no change working the same. I asked the service mgr. if it was at all possible that it may be the starter and he said not a chance, I decided to take a chance and change out the starter and guess what all problems gone. I don't understand it and don't think it makes any sense but if anyone can shed some light on this it would be appreciated.
