The chrome cover does fit. I have it on a 2007 FLHX. The install of the light and cover is incredibly easy. Also have the run/brake/turn set-up in the rear. Lots of visibility.
I put the BadAss LED'S on my 09 street glide, all I can say is OMG>>>>>> these are the best LED's money can buy. they are not cheap but neither is the doctors bill if someone rams YOU from the rear. If you enjoy riding, I strongly recommend getting these lights.
Put one on my new RG Ultra yesterday, it is one Bright *** Light!!! OMG, do not stair at it! I kept playing with the different settings to find the one I liked best and had a headache that evening. IF someone is behind me, I worry they will get blinded by it... seriously. I have no need for additional lighting 9I was gonna get a hoglite bar) or a flash unit now for the rear end of my new ride.
I just came back from my dealer and saw these lights so I decided to search the forum. They are crazy bright. I almost had a seizure looking at it, then another one when I heard the price. But I am thinking about it...
IMO...they are the best on the market. I have a brand new-in-the-box BAL-1R and will sell for $175 shipped. It's the all-red lens (see link below) and was purchased for a 2009 RK that I sold before I had a chance to install it. I now have a 2010 SG and it does not have the large brake/tail light...PM me for details and phone number.
I install BAL lights on all my bikes for greater visibility...I also install the Mini-Beast horns so that I can be heard too.
