Any ideas where to place this ugly thing on a Street glide to make it look better

I make them put mine on the frame down tube on the left side of the bike.. Theres already factory stickers there and Im not a fan of the bolt on plates.. I think they're illegal too, in PA anyway..

I got the inspection sticker plate that Harley sells and attached on the left side crash bar mount by the shifter. I will try to get a picture today. The only problem I can see with it is if I get lower fairings.

I have mine on a plate bolted to the lower saddlebag bracket. It is between the bag and the fender on the right side. You can see it from the rear, but you need to take the bag off to change it. Speaking of that....mine expired in June.

Are you talking about your wife or the actual saddlebag?

Mines on the left lower fork, but NYS now wants it on a non-removable part of the bike like the frame.

Just got my NYS inspection done and the inspector put it on the lower fork on the left side. I don't care anymore where the hell they put it so it didn't bother me, but it might annoy some guys. I don't like giving the leo's any reason to mess with me even though my 2 sons are leos. My understanding is it has to be affixed to the left side of the bike and can be mounted to anything that requires you to remove 2 or more bolts and one of the bolts has to be covered by the sticker, I would guess like a countersunk flat head bolt, so it will damage the sticker if you attempt to remove the plate to put it on another bike. My HOG chapter sent out a notice of intended Motorcyle "safety enforcement" in NYS and one of the items they were intending to write tickets for was improper placement and attachment of the inspection sticker. My buddy has the plate held on at the shifter linkage held on with one bolt but hasn't been bothered yet.

Same for me except on the left between the bag and the fender.
