Default Forward controls on a Road King

Well, try and try as I might I just cant get comfortable on the floor boards on my r.k. I have been fighting with it since I made the switch from my FX softail a year and a half ago. I have moved them forward, outward, bought the extended shifter, brake lever, etc. No matter what I do my knees just kill me on this bike, Ive tried highway pegs. I am 6-1 and just feel like im way too cramped on the bike, and my knees start to hurt very quickly. Now here is my question. Does anyone know of a kit to convert the floor boards over to forward controls? I know I have seen it done. I love the bike other wise, but if I can get confortable I may have to trade it back in on something with forward controls. I really hope it does not come to that. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

6'3" and I would recommend Kuryakyn Cruiseboards for comfort. If ya wanna stay stretched out how about a Pingel electronic shifter, simply using the clutch to stop and start. Front and rear brakes can also be combined with a modulator to eliminate the rear brake pedal. Those are two trick mods on my list.

I forgot to mention I installed a lindby bar also, which works out well on the highway for me, But its the around town city riding like my rides to work that get to me. I really am not a very flexible guy and I really have trouble getting my feet on and off of the floorboards, not to mention how they hurt my knees for some reason. I hate to say it, but when I hop on my wifes sporty with forward controls I am more comfortable than on my R.K. as far as my knees go.

I have problems similar to you but my pain is in the hips and not the knees. I'm 6' 3" and I'm having a time getting comfortable with the floorboards as well. I'm 50 (maybe the biggest part of my problem) and just getting back into motorcycles, I'm a runner and like a lot of runners have some flexibility problems as well. I kinda feel like I'm heading down the road you've been on with adjustments, I'll just see if I can work out a comfy position. I've ordered the cruise boards for starters but really feel like a "tall boy" seat might be the answer...or maybe a stretching routine before riding?[:'(]

I have been doing alot of stretching, and I think it does help. I do alot of heavy lifting at work and am begining to wonder maybe its just the first sign of bad knees on the horizon. Im only 30 years old, im to young to feel this damn old.[8D] Anyway, im not sure what to do. All I know is it really sucks.
