Afriend of mine entered a drawing the summer of 08, about 2 months after I got my bike. For 1 $100 ticket he won the 105th edition Ultra. I saw him yesterday and started talking about the Sturgis trip I took and riding in general. I then asked him, how many miles you got on that Ultra now? He said 650! he hasn't even made it to the 1000 service, and it's almost 2010! I was floored! Can you say garage queen? It only cost him $100 plus taxes, I'm still amazed at that.
Probably afraid to ride it. Suggest an MSF class to get his confidence up. Or maybe he's doesn't really like to ride and just wants a trophy in his garage.....

Sounds like hes not a biker type or he has a nagging wife. crap Id be all over that.
There was one down the street from me the guys in the bar were talking about the other day. It was an 05 UC... It was out in the front yard with a for sale sign on it. A couple of the guys stopped to look at it... It had 60 miles on it. The guy basically bought it and rode it home and parked it. Lots of bikes in garages around here.
Lots of guys buy bikes and bring them home without the wifey's permission. Then the rath of hell fro her makes them afraid to ride it but ego doesn't let them sell it either...until they are ready.
I've met a lot of people that are the same way. I just saw more trailers than I could count at the Delmarva Rally with MD license plates. If they live in MD the longest point is 4-hours from the farther part of the state. I think a lot people trailer to rallies just to party and occasionally take a ride.
