If you're not opposed to buying out of state, check out Chicago Harley. They waive freight and prep charges and usually include incentives like $500 in free stuff. At one time they had a fly and ride plan.
I left it up to the wife and she loves it and said "YES". So I made the deal Friday and it is ours. I'm doing my part to stimulate the economy.
They installed the luggage rack with brake light, the security system, hydraulic riders back rest and a GPS mount yesterday and I should be riding that baby home this afternoon if the weather clears up.
A buddy came by last night and gave me a FREE new in the box Harley head set that I already have on my helment so I'll be able to plug right in the first time I ride. That was fun hooking that up on the helment for the first time and getting it comfortable. I had to cut a couple of pieces out of the liner which concerned me but once I was finished it looks great and feels comfortable with the ear buds.
I still have not ridden a single 09 or 010 model so I am really looking forward to the 25 mile ride home and seeing how much different it is compared to the 08 SG.

I have a 2007 EGC and test rode a 2009 Ultra a few months back.
I'll tell you this.....
If I wouldn't take a beating on the trade-in, I'd be riding an Ultra right now. I haven't ridden a 2010 but if it rides as good(or better) than the 2009, you're in for a treat.
if anyone lives in N.C. or close by Rocky Mount H/D runs a deal sometime where they waive all prep, taxes and sell for straight up MSRP, i called last month and they were doing the deal in September, so if you are not in a hurry to buy that seemed to be a good deal, I priced a 2010 black/pewter ulta and it was 21,999 otd....but no abs
It is a standard Ultra Classic not a Limited or SE. It is two tone Black & Silver with ABS, Security, Luggage Rack on Tour Pack and has a drivers back rest and extra head set for passenger included.
I do not have a trade this is a straight up buy.
Out the door the dealer quoted me $24,293.25 tax / tag total price.
I like the dealer, good folks and I bought my SG from them and only got freight and dealer prep off. This time I really want the best price and my gut is that this is not really good enough.
There are a few like it at other dealers in the area but I need to know what really is a good deal before I do any more shopping.
Thanks in advance
