96 and six speed noise

Are most all the 2007 six speeds noisy? Just bought one and I swear after getting off my heritage and going to the street glide, so much more noise. Is this normal?

1st and 5th gears are straight cut for durability and the rest are helical cut so it makes the straight ones seem noisier.

You also have all the noise bouncing off the fairing. On my RK, the engine noise is much louder with my windshield on.

They are; use some heavier gear oil (I use 75-110) and invest in an IDS and the noises will be gone unless you are right beside a delivery truch in traffic.

Also all 07's as you will find out, have a substandard compensator in the primary which accounts for extra noise, and start clunking, the fix 40274-08 Se compensator kit. look it up check it out.. enjoy that bike....
