Default waterproof?

I ride in the winter as long as it is not snowing, or there is ice on the road. But it rains a lot where I live. My question is how durable are the Roadglides in the cold cold rainy season? Specifically how does the stereo system hold up in the cold rain? I would like to purchase a touring model with a stereo in the future.

I've personally never had an issue with it (rain). And I've ridden through some rain...

That said - I've heard of people having temporary problems after *washing* their bikes (who may or may not have actually sprayed water under pressure directly at the radio)...

I rode all last winter and got rained on several times. The only problem I have is the temp gauge fogging up. The radio has never given me any problems.

I have a 00EGC, I wash the bike very often with a garden hose and ride in the rain, never had any issues with my radio (knock on wood).

I've had the same issue with the fuel gage on my Ultras as far back as 1999. Harley will tell you "it's normal" and while it may not be "right," all Harley guages have the potential of fogging up.

It's part of the Harley charm.
