As a rule of thumb, buy the latest year of a Harley that you can afford! They get better year by year, and the newer, the better!

Found an 09 with zero miles on it for 16k, but it is a standard and to put bags, tour pack, lower leg fairings, radio, etc, it gets a little pricey.

Get the 07...that 6 speed tranny make a big difference. Nothing wrong with the 06, but if you get it, you'll eventually wish you had that extra gear for those highway miles.

Save your cash for the 09. Take a good look at the changes from 08 to 09 and you will see it is much improved. After looking, try to test drive and you will be a believer.

Hey, don't rule out the RoadGlide until you test drive it!

With the two picks you mentioned, yes, go with the '07. Or try to save up for another year and get an '09 or newer with the frame improvements. Good luck!

there are some good buys out there, even on later models, like the improved 09's...

do not get in a hurry, look around.. ebay is a good source.

Thanks for all the help guys. Our local dealer had rental bikes and I just bought an 09 Electra Glide Classic with 8,000 miles on it for !4,999 plus tax. Nice bike and great ride. Sure beats an 07 or 06.
