Default diamond heads

has enybody had there motor cut? thinking of possibly doing it I have my original 88" jugs and a frend has a set of heads, thinking of getting cylenders punched out to match my 95" and reworking heads porting, and oversize valves then sending them to get cut so I have no down time while I send them off. just wondering if any one has and if they would do it again?

I had mine diamond cut just before I had the heads ported. They look excellent. Really make the bike look sharp. Go for it.

The theory is, from the increased surface area.

It's kinda like this:

Stock:
____________________________________________

Cut:
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

The cut exposes more surface to the air.

Now that I look at that line, it almost looks like fins for the fins.

Hope this helps.

If you are going to have any head work done, do it BEFORE you get the heads cut. A machine shop could end up damaging them in their process.

My buddy did it to his Fatboy while in the process of doing the big bore kit as well...looks awesome. I believe it's a shop in Las Vegas that patented it & they do most of the diamond cut motors that you see out there.
