good.... I really didn't want to locktite them. I will add them to my oil change schedule. As far as adjusting them correctly.... tighten them until they have a heavy drag, then lock them down? Yeah, this is the first time I used adjustables. My V-rods had overhead cams with buckets and shims.
If I had it to do over again, I would have just pulled the uppers and gone with new rods. One less thing to worry about coming loose. That being said, mine only came loose once a few months after my cam replacement, and it was my own fault for not tightening them enough against the jamb nuts. I've never had a problem since, but always check them in the Spring. BTW, I went with the Andrews chromoly rods, but probably didn't need to.
I don't see how it could hurt anything so it should be OK to do, but I have never used it on any of my bikes that have adjustable push rods (BMW, HARLEY, NORTON) and I have never had any problems with the push rod adjustment backing off while I am riding around and when I do check the clearance at the scheduled intervals, it is never really off either and I ride many of my bikes on 500 + miles a day on trips and weekend riding. I would think that you would be OK either way though.
One of the guys on here had the pushrod come loose, wind down and bind on the head, bending the rod and throwing the tube off. It was a big inch build, with a big lift cam, but it can happen.....
